What is the process in case of a dispute?

When a chargeback is registered, MANGOPAY's bank account is debited. We inform you there is a chargeback and a dispute is created in the API.

The funds are added to your "credit wallet" situated in "Repudiation" on your dashboard. In the category "Disputes > View all", you can have an overview of all the disputed payments.

There are 3 types of disputes :

  • Contestable: Funds are not accessible anymore. It may not be a fraud and you can contest the chargeback.

  • Not Contestable: If funds are still accessible, you can either do a settlement transfer or make a bankwire on your chargeback wallet. Please notice that if it is a fraud, the dispute will be lost.

  • Retrieval: it is not a chargeback but an information request sent by the card holder. Before deciding if there should be a chargeback or not, the bank wants to receive information on the transaction.
