What is the process in case of a dispute?

When a chargeback is registered, MANGOPAY's bank account is debited. We let you know that there is a chargeback and create a dispute in the API.

The funds are subtracted from your "credit wallet" situated in the dashboard's "Repudiation" tab. In the category "Disputes > View all", you have access to an overview of all the disputed payments.

There are 3 types of disputes :

  • Contestable: Funds are not accessible anymore. It may not be a fraud and you can contest the chargeback.

  • Not Contestable: The dispute is automatically lost. To cover the cost, you will have to either make a settlement transfer or a bankwire on your credit wallet.

  • Retrieval: it is not a chargeback but an information request sent by the card holder's bank. The bank wants to retrieve information on the transaction before deciding whether to start the procedure for a chargeback.
